In-person event

About this event

Dovetailing off of our fabulous OpenStack Networking month of September, we are kicking off October with carrier-grade OpenStack and NFV (Network Functions Virtualization). In this session, Amit will present how NFV OpenStack can transform Telco businesses, and show examples of how HP Helion’s NFV OpenStack distribution called “HP Helion OpenStack Carrier Grade” is already offering a new way for communications service providers (CSPs) to design, deploy, and manage networking services.

By decoupling the network functions from proprietary hardware appliances, CSPs can accelerate the introduction of new, compelling services quickly and cost-effectively. NFV enables CSPs to reset the cost base of their network operations and create the flexible service delivery environments they need to drive revenue and reduce costs.

About this week's speaker:  Amitabh Dey (Amit) is NFV Product Enablement Manager at Hewlett Packard Enterprise. Earlier he worked as OpenStack Technical Marketing Manager for HP Helion. He has been awarded with VMware vExpert (2013 & 2015) and HP Helion MVP 2014 for his evangelism and thought leadership activities specially in South East Asia including Singapore and India.

About this meetup: These meetups are community based and focused. The Beginner track is for someone with little to no experience with OpenStack technology. It's for people interested in expanding your DevOps horizons or someone that just wants to learn more about cloud computing.

Attend remotely via google hangout. Rick will post the link here just prior to the meeting.

Updates will be published via the meetup email list, OpenStack community blog, and twitter via @sarob@revansvmware, or@hpcloudangel.
