The Great AWS API Debate

Cloud Native Silicon Valley

Aug 16, 2013, 2:00 – 5:00 AM (UTC)

In-person event

About this event

You’ve read the points, counterpoints, and chatter. Now, let’s come out from behind the blog posts and tweets to address the question head on, live and in person.

Randy Bias of Cloudscaling and Boris Renski of Mirantis will participate in a moderated debate on the merits of embracing AWS and the AWS API in OpenStack. Joe Arnold of SwiftStack will moderate the debate, starting with a set of questions then opening the forum for audience questions.

The idea is to explore the question of AWS architecture and API compatibility in a community forum where we can begin developing a set of specific and actionable questions for the relevant Technical Committees in OpenStack to explore. Let’s have some (respectful) fun with a hot issue and see if we can move the ball forward.
