About this event

It's that time of the year again, let's end the year with a relax get together sharing battle stories, do a Kubernetes Quiz Night and hopefully learn something awesome!

How much do you know about Kubernetes?

We will end this event with a quiz night where you can show off your Kubernetes skills (or learn from others) and win prizes!

You will play in teams, so bring along your friends.

There will be swag as a prize :)

Current talk proposals:

- Talk 1: Let's play with Cloud Code - by Julien Landure, Zenika
- Talk 2: k8s clusters with Terraform / Terragrunt and Kops, by Vincent De Smet, CAG (30 min)
- Kubernetes Quiz Night! - by Daniele Polencic, learnk8s

Talk 1: Let's play with Google Code
Are you creating or playing with Docker images everyday? You’re pushing them on K8S? Let’s discover a DevOps tool to improve your Developer eXperience: "Cloud Code". With the uses of Skaffold and Container Structure Test, you can reload your Kubernetes cluster seamlessly and quickly and validate your Docker images.
With a quick demo, we will use Cloud Code to make every day a productive day.

Speaker Profile: CTO at Zenika, Julien is also Google Developer Expert Cloud. He loves cloud technologies helping customers to get results quickly using the Google Cloud Platform and managed services. He's from Nantes, France and funded the GDG Nantes, organizing one of the biggest DevFest in the world.

Talk 2: Kubernetes clusters with Terraform / Terragrunt and Kops
How do you make Kops and Terraform play nice? What is special about Terraform 0.12? What is Terragrunt? And why would I want to use any of these when I can just use GKE / EKS? This talk is lessons learned from managing k8s clusters with kops since 2017. We will also look at what pros the solution discussed offers versus EKS and what common cluster operations this design takes into account. It may be quite heavily AWS focused, but it should also be useful if you're on other cloud providers.

Speaker Profile: System Engineer at CAG, Vincent has given several talks for our user group regarding Kops cluster bootstrap mechanisms as well as security conscious cluster design with Kops.

Quiz organised by Daniele, he is an instructor at Learnk8s, where he teaches Kubernetes and containers to small and large enterprises.

Thank you so much for everyone making this possible, including GoJek for providing a venue
