For our October meetup, we have 3 excellent speakers, including some that are coming to us from out of town. We'll hear about chaos engineering, see Ceph in action, and learn some good patterns around caching.
This event will be hosted by ELASTX at WeWork at Regeringsgatan 29, on the 5th floor. Just take the escalator from the entrance, check in at the reception desk, and you'll see us. Due to the shape of the space at Wework, we will only have roughly 50 seats close to the presenter. There is plenty of room for everyone, but only 50 or so will be able to sit immediately in front of the stage.

Talk #1 - How to be (successful at being) wrong by Russ Miles, CEO at ChaosIQ
Russ Miles discusses the tools and techniques he uses to turn inevitably being wrong into being successful at being wrong. Being wrong can be turned to your advantage, and Russ shares stories of how this has happened and also the challenges to look out for.
Talk #2 - Hands On with Rook: Ceph & Kubernetes on Bare Metal by Maxime Guyot
This is a demo and walk through the use of Ceph via Rook, a storage orchestration service for Bare Metal Kubernetes.
We will then run through some scaling up/down of the underlying storage infrastructure as well as failing storage devices to showcase recovery.
Talk #3 - Where is my cache? by Rafal Leszko, Cloud Software Engineer at Hazelcast
A talk about architectural patterns for caching microservices with examples. Dedicated to developers and software architects who design microservice-based systems.
There will be food provided by Spotify, but we are still working on the details. If you have special diet please let us know.
Hope to see you at WeWork. All the best, Ilia, Viktor, Andreas, Dave, and Matthias
