The sessions will be in Hebrew --- Alexei Kravtsov, Team leader at Portshift R&D, heavily involved with Istio and Kubernetes deployments in production. Active contributor to Istio, mainly in Istio Security WG. Ariel Shuper, VP Product Management at Portshift, microservices (containers, serverless) security enthusiasts in the past 3 years (prior to Portshift, led Aqua Security serverless product). Speaker @Kubecon NA, MS Ignite, Serverless days etc.
Istio 1.0 was released almost 2 years ago, and the project is now moving at a steady state delivering new features and stability improvements with every release. In this session we will look at some of the additions to Istio from 1.0 to 1.5, including Istio as a CNI plugin, the shift from Mixer to Envoy for telemetry, consolidating of Istio’s components to a monolith, namespace isolation between Virtual Services, and more..
Lots of containerized apps consume resources and services located outside their Kubernetes clusters. How can we apply the service mesh mesh model in this case? In this talk we'll examine how Istio can help you expand your network and security policies resources across Kubernetes cluster and other external services (on-prem resources, cloud managed services, etc).
For the Q&A, please write your questions in the chat box in the live stream page. The host will read questions our loud and the speakers will answer.
