About this event

Hello Triangle Kubernauts and OpenShifters! We are so happy to announce our 13th meetup session on Monday (yes I said Monday), March 6th!

6:00-6:30: Gather, network, pizza

6:30 - 7:30: "Building Containerized Images and CI/CD with Jenkins Pipelines" by Ben Parees, Red Hat.

OpenShift provides several ways to perform container image build operations on the platform. I'll cover the source-to-image, docker, and custom build strategies provided by OpenShift.  Topics covered will include features/configuration of each strategy and how to choose between them.

I'll also talk about the new OpenShift Pipeline feature which enables continuous integration and continuous deployment workflows powered by integrated Jenkins Pipelines, all running on the OpenShift platform.  Configuration and usage of the feature will be discussed, along with an end to end demo.

Ben Parees is a Principal Engineer on OpenShift. He serves as the lead for the Developer Experience team which focuses on workflows that take developers from source code to PaaS deployed Docker image based applications, including continuous integration and delivery flows.

7:30 - 8:15: "GitHub PR builds and validation w/ OpenShift and Jenkins Pipelines" by Cesar Wong, Red Hat

Cesar Wong is a developer in the OpenShift Developer Experience team. His areas of focus include continuous integration, continuous delivery and simplifying the developer experience on OpenShift. His passion is to build tools that he can use.
