We're looking for a contributor to help increase Merge Forward (MF) member representation at KubeCon Amsterdam. The KubeCon Amsterdam CfP Coordinator will recruit and encourage MF members interested in submitting a talk, guiding them through the Call for Proposals (CfP) process.

What you'll do

  • Connect with members. Reach out to members within the Merge Forward community to identify those interested in speaking at KubeCon.

  • Provide guidance. Offer support and assistance to members as they work on their abstracts.

  • Mentor new speakers. For members new to the CfP process, you'll help them craft a strong abstract by providing feedback and suggestions.

  • Facilitate co-speaking opportunities. Work to connect new speakers with more experienced ones who want to partner up.

Who we're looking for

For this contributor role, you'll need a track record of writing successful submissions for major national or international conferences (meetups do not count).

What's in it for you?

This role is an excellent opportunity to expand your professional network and personal brand within the cloud native community. You'll work closely with members of the Merge Forward initiative and other established speakers, building valuable professional relationships. By mentoring others and helping them succeed, you'll also hone your own leadership skills and demonstrate your expertise and commitment to the community, potentially opening doors to future career opportunities.

This is a great opportunity to make a tangible impact on the Merge Forward community and help amplify the voices of our members on a global stage.

This resonates with me. I don’t yet have a track record of any successful submissions, but I do have experience with writing and supporting community initiatives, and I’d love to help members structure and refine their abstracts, while also learning from those with more CfP experience.

Thanks for your interest, Jubril. We already have several volunteers, but you are welcome to support them. There is a thread in the channel. Otherwise, we are always looking for general support as stated in this description.
