We are looking for a Digital Marketing Core Contributor to join Merge Forward (MF). This is a strategically important role for our mission as we aim to increase the visibility of underrepresented groups within the cloud native community. In a digital world, your contributions will play a key role in achieving that. Visibility is so important because it helps break down preconceptions and unconscious biases.
What you'll do:
Launch and manage MF social accounts.
Create compelling posts celebrating member wins and subgroup activities.
Keep a media tracking sheet to ensure we capture all talks and media engagement.
Keep track of special months or days, like Deaf Awareness Month, and work with community groups to create campaigns around them.
Encourage members to post about their wins and support them if needed.
Plan and coordinate (CNCF) live streams with MF members.
Build on and improve the MF marketing kit, and ensure members know about and use it.
Who We're Looking For
Reliable doer with a can-do attitude and strong sense of responsibility.*
Marketer able to regularly commit between 2 and 5 hours per week.**
Proven experience managing social media accounts, writing social content, and creating compelling visuals.
An eye for aesthetics to create visuals that not only convey the right message but also look professional and beautiful.
Marketing experience at a cloud native company is a plus.
*While this is volunteer-based, we need you to take it as seriously as a job. Our mission is important, and we need someone who feels that way too.
**Of course, there will be times you are on vacation or have other commitments or deadlines that will reduce the time you can contribute, but we need regularity.
