About this event

DoK Talk | Vitess: A Cloud-Native Distributed System for Scaling MySQL" is a technical event focused on Vitess, an open-source database clustering system that scales MySQL for large applications. Attendees will learn how Vitess addresses the challenges of MySQL scaling in cloud environments, offering insights into architecture, sharding, and deployment best practices. Ideal for database engineers and cloud architects. Vitess is a database solution for deploying, scaling and managing large clusters of database instances. It currently supports MySQL and Percona Server for MySQL. It's designed to run as effectively in a public or private cloud architecture as it does on dedicated hardware. It extends many important SQL features with near-unlimited scalability. Many enterprises have adopted Vitess for their production needs.

In this talk, Deepthi will give an overview of Vitess, its architecture and feature set, both as a database, but also specifically the features that make it easy to deploy in Kubernetes.
