About this event

We are joining up with the STL Rust Meetup for a talk on how we can use the performance and safety-focused Rust programming language for cloud-native applications!

https://www.meetup.com/STL-Rust/events/257907834/

Description:

Rust is a great general purpose language for developing nimble microservices and resilient web apps. However, it's not always obvious how to make our Rust apps ready for the cloud. Let's demystify this process with some real examples.

In this first talk, we'll begin by quickly reviewing 12-factor app guidance and how it applies to Rust. Then, we'll detail efficient container build and deploy strategies. Lastly, we'll dive into securely instrumenting our apps with time-series metrics and distributed logging with the CNCF projects Prometheus and Fluentd with support from Envoy.

Food and swag sponsored by the CNCF (Cloud Native Computing Foundation) -- https://www.cncf.io/
